B-Con Adventures

Denver, CO

I haven’t made it to many cons this year, but Sean Brown of Mr. B Games invited me out to his hometown convention to kick off the Con season for me 🙂 This whirlwind trip to Denver over the holiday weekend was a total blast. In spite of multiple fire alarms which sent all con attendees out into the heat of the day, I was able to play lots of fun new games ad meet lots of wonderful people. I even had the honor of joining Richard Launius and Mike Fitzgerald at the table to play some of their newest games (Avengers Assemble – pictured below – and Dragon Island – which I forgot to take a picture of).

I even took the stage with a fun loving group of game designers and reviewers to answer pop culture questions and help Mr. B give away lots of free games. So many people walked away from that one with new games tucked under their arms. What a great Con!

Rocky Mountain National Park

This was also the first con trip where my wife Brooke decided to join me so after the convention, she and I decided to grab the full Colorado experience. We toured the the entire RMNP from west to east in a single day.

And somehow, my Dad even ended up in Colorado the same weekend so I got to hike up a 14,000 foot mtn. with him! If only I could grow a beard like his 🙂

So much to see there, I could have spent days on end, but alas, all too soon it was time to return home.

Rose City Comicon is next weekend so I’ll give a full report from that. Hopefully, I can bump into Weird Al at the con as it sounds like he will be there. I’ve been a fan of that guy since the early 80’s! Who knows, I may even have some exciting game news after RCCC. I didn’t do much in the way of livestreaming from Denver but I may try again this weekend if I can figure out how to get it all set up with half way decent sound. That usually seems to be the sticking point. I’m also opening up this blog for comments so feel free to post if you want to 🙂
